About

Rohrbach Group Campground is part of Antietam National Battlefield, the site of the bloodiest one-day battle in American history on September 17, 1862. This primitive, walk-in camping area is exclusively available to Scout groups and civic organizations only—not for individual or family camping. The campground features 10 sites, each equipped with a fire ring and picnic tables and capable of accommodating up to 30 people per site. Located in the Cumberland Valley of western Maryland, the 3,250-acre battlefield encompasses farmland, pastures, woodlots, and limestone forests that provide excellent wildlife observation opportunities. Visitors can enjoy 15 miles of hiking trails, ranger-led programs, and biking on the battlefield tour road. The campground typically operates from April through November and requires advance reservations only.
