About

Rodman Campground is a 67-site Florida State Parks facility located approximately 9 miles southwest of Palatka off State Route 19, providing optimal access to some of Florida's finest freshwater fishing. The campground sits on the 9,500-acre Rodman Reservoir, which is perennially rated in the Top 10 Trophy Bass Lakes in Florida by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The reservoir offers diverse habitat for trophy fish and numerous avian species, including endangered and threatened wading birds, waterfowl, bald eagles, alligators, turtles, and seasonal manatees. The campground and reservoir were created during the 1960s-era Cross Florida Barge Canal project. As part of the larger Cross Florida Greenway, the area offers over 70,000 acres and 290 miles of trails for bikers, hikers, and equestrians, with paddling opportunities along the Ocklawaha and Withlacoochee rivers.
