Rockhaven Park Equestrian Campground is located on the south side of Clinton Lake, west of the Dam on the Rock Creek Arm, and serves as the trailhead for the South Shore Trails. It is Clinton Lake's only campground that allows overnight camping with horses and mules, making it a premier destination for equestrian enthusiasts, though it welcomes all campers. The park features 24 campsites, with 19 offering equestrian accommodations and 12 equipped with electrical service. Amenities include a four-stall shower/restroom building, vault toilets, horseshoe pits, picnic shelter, playground, corrals, hitching posts, and water hydrants throughout. Clinton Lake itself offers a beautiful setting of steep bluffs, wooded shoreline, and clean water, with abundant opportunities for boating, fishing, canoeing, swimming, and wildlife viewing including bald eagles, white-tailed deer, and Canada geese. The lake is well-stocked with crappie, walleye, channel catfish, and white bass. Nearby attractions include the Army Corps of Engineers Visitor Center, Clinton Lake Museum, and the cities of Lawrence and Topeka within 30 minutes.
