About

River Road Campground is situated along the scenic shores of the Fourche LaFave River and Nimrod Dam, nestled between Arkansas' Ouachita and Ozark Mountains. This peaceful retreat offers 21 spacious and modern campsites divided between the River Road Loop and Project Point Loop, providing shaded sites with beautiful natural scenery. The campground serves as an ideal base for outdoor recreation on Nimrod Lake, a 21,000-acre recreational oasis created by the dam completed in 1942. Visitors can enjoy excellent fishing for crappie, largemouth bass, catfish, and bream, as well as boating, water skiing, and tubing. The area is rich with wildlife viewing opportunities, including white-tailed deer, wild turkey, black bear, and various waterfowl. Additional amenities include a boat ramp, playground, and day-use group picnic shelter, making it perfect for families seeking outdoor adventure and relaxation.
