About
West Point is a historical landmark in Wendell, ID where locals and tourists visit during Eagle season, after hiking Box Canyon, swimming the river at 1000 Springs or hunting many species of birds. It was established in the 1940’s with a store, service station, creamery, school, grange, highway district, and homes. The store has had a colorful history of ownership, with Bud and Ferol Boss running it from 1962 to 1990. The restaurant is situated between Box Canyon and Ritter Island State Parks, and the Eagle tree has 50-100 Eagles roosting behind the property from November to March. The current owners, Brandon and Jacob, are working to bring back its nostalgic history and create new entertainment, including music, wine nights, trivia, and RV spots.
