The Jayhawk Area Council is proud to represent Scouting America in 11 counties in Northeast Kansas. The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The Council invites you to participate in Scouts Read Sacred Texts Worldwide – a meaningful opportunity for youth to connect with their faith through reading. This special event encourages Scouts to set aside time to read from their sacred texts in conjunction with the U.S. National Day of Prayer. Whether you're a seasoned Scouter or just starting out, the Jayhawk Area Council offers a wide range of activities and programs for youth and adults, including camping and outdoor programs, advancement resources, and community service opportunities. The Council also hosts various events throughout the year, such as the Klondike, which promises fun for every Scout and is scheduled for January 23-25 at the pristine Pomona State Park in Vassar, KS. Registration is currently open and we encourage you and your Unit to join in on the fun.
