Rancho Seco Campground
Herald, California
About
Get back to nature at Rancho Seco Recreational Area, a 400-acre park that offers a variety of activities such as bird watching, boating, camping, fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. The park features recreation and concession buildings, shade structures, a laundry facility, a boathouse, and renovated restrooms and showers. Visitors can enjoy an easy seven-mile round-trip hike at the Howard Ranch Trail, which offers something special in each season. The park also hosts a Trout Derby, where thousands of pounds of trout are up for grabs. However, due to new boating restrictions, no trailer-launched watercraft will be allowed on the lake, and all watercraft must undergo a watercraft inspection and be clean, drained, and dry before launching.
