Rancho del Oso Walk-in & Bike-in Campground is a unique camping experience located in Big Basin Redwoods State Park. The campground is currently operating as an interim walk-in and bike-in site due to trail damage from the CZU Lightning Complex Fire in 2020. The five reservable campsites are walk-in only, with the furthest site approximately 200 feet from the parking area. One shared bike-in campsite is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground is surrounded by redwood trees and offers a serene environment for campers. Visitors can explore the park's trails, including the Skyline to the Sea Trail, which is currently closed. The campground is crumb clean, and campers are required to dispose of all food and trash properly. The park is also home to the marbled murrelet, an endangered bird that nests in the area. Campers can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and scenic views of the redwood forest.
