Ranch Camp
Raton, New Mexico
About
Come, even if only for a day. Here you can disconnect from your stress and intimately connect with the Rich Earth and Deep Sky. Create the experience you want. Hiking, biking, driving, or stay inside hearing the wind or the silence. It is when your spirit connects with this enchanted land that your healing adventure happens. We provide an unapologetically progressive, tolerant non racist environment. We commit ourselves to radical hospitality. This is a working ranch founded in the early 1900’s. The house maintains the character of many of the original features but has been modernized for comfort. You will not need to use the old two-seater outhouse, but we are not a 5-star hotel. The feel is authentic and helps create an experience that will propel you into the spirit of the valley. This land is an ancestral home for Ute, Comanche, Kiowa, Jicarilla Apache people. Ancestors are honored and honor us. The sovereignty of indigenous nations is current and eternal: to be honored and respected by everyone who passes this way. It is the rich heritage, that helps make Ranch Camp the place to center yourself in quiet reflections, embraced by nature. These high plains are surrounded by the Clayton- Raton Volcanic Field, creating a palatable serenity in contrast to violent upheavals of the past. This space lacks the disturbances of the city. It has a deep quietness that lets you hear the wind before you feel it. It has a deep sky darkness that lets you see the thousands of stars that light up the valley at night. Here there is a special beauty that separates you from the fast pace of life and reminds you of the important things you find only in calm simplicity.
