Located in the Mt. Shasta region, Camp Pit River is PSEA’s most remote camp with the nearest town of Burney about 35 miles away. The area is well known for superior hunting and fishing, with the cold, spring-fed waters of the Pit River providing an excellent home for trout. The camp offers a heated swimming pool and wading pool in peak season, a playground, laundry facilities, Wi-fi (limited), barbecues (charcoal not provided), and an ice machine. The camp is somewhat isolated, so it is advisable to bring several days worth of provisions. The camp has 17 units, each with a fully equipped kitchen, one bathroom with shower (except for cabins 8 and 18, which have two bathrooms with showers), and beds for 5-8 people. Campers must bring their own toiletries and linens. The area is also known for its natural beauty and wildlife, with photography buffs able to capture brilliant spring wildflowers or vivid fall colors, and hikers able to enjoy the natural beauty and wildlife along wooded trails.
