About

Otter Creek Lake & Park is a 529-acre park located 6 miles northeast of Toledo in Secs. 30 & 31, Carroll Township. The park serves as the headquarters for the office and maintenance operations of the Conservation Board and the home of the Tama County Nature Center. It boasts an on-site naturalist and serves as the site of annual summer camps, fundraisers, field trips, and other events. The park features a 70-acre lake hosting quality fishing, boating, and swimming, as well as two open-air shelters, electric campsites, tent sites, a swimming beach, picnicking areas, a concrete boat ramp, and a fish cleaning station. The park also has a modern showerhouse, vault latrines, a two-acre native prairie, and a 3.0-mile loop scenic hiking trail around the lake. The Tama County Nature Center is a popular site for social events, including weddings, receptions, family reunions, and workshops.
