Plum Creek Nature Center is a visitor center operated by the Forest Preserve District of Will County, located at Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve in Crete Township near Beecher. The center offers hands-on exhibits and interactive play elements designed to help visitors explore the natural world, including a honeybee exhibit, resident reptiles, and a nature playscape featuring a pollinator garden and rain garden. The facility provides access to outdoor recreation opportunities including hiking, biking, horseback riding, camping, and cross-country skiing along the adjacent Plum Creek Greenway Trail. The visitor center is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers sled tube and snowshoe rentals, public programs, school programs, and facility rentals. The preserve itself is open from 8 a.m. to sunset and features amenities such as picnic areas, a bird observation area, and access to natural features including Snapper Pond.
