This charming, rustic campground is nestled along the majestic Platte River, shaded by a thick canopy of Michigan hardwoods. It's an ideal spot for paddling and fishing. There are 26 sites for tent and small trailer use. The campground is located near the Platte River Hatchery. The campground is located 2.5 miles southeast of Honor via US-31 and Goose Road. Brown trout, steelhead and coho are caught in the Platte River. Additional nearby fishing opportunities include Platte Lake (5 miles northwest) and Crystal Lake (7 miles west). This campground provides access to state land open to hunting. Firearm hunting is not allowed within 450 feet of an occupied dwelling. The campground is accessible by water and there are fantastic paddling opportunities on the Platte River. These rustic campgrounds offer stunning river and lakefront settings, perfect for fishing, boating, and paddling. No reservations are accepted, and sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are vault toilets, potable water is available from a hand-pump well, and no electrical hookups are available. Overnight fees and registration procedures are posted at the information kiosk at each campground. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay, and one camping unit and six people are allowed per site.
