Pace Bend Park is a 1,368-acre park popular for camping on the cliffs overlooking Lake Travis, swimming on a beach, boating, and exploring the Hill Country beauty with miles of hike, bike, and equestrian trails. The park provides access to activities such as barbecue grills, fire rings, boat ramps, fishing, improved campsites, out-house style toilets, picnic tables, designated swim coves, and an RV dump station. However, primitive camping is limited due to ongoing construction and rehabilitation of campsites. The Kate and Johnson cove and North Gracy campgrounds are currently open, offering 30 and 15 primitive campsites, respectively. Reservations are highly recommended, and tent camping is allowed only at designated campsites. RVs are not allowed at these sites as they are not developed for them. The park is open every day from sunrise to civil twilight, and the boat ramps are open at varying hours. A burn ban is currently in effect, and park entry and amenity fees can only be paid with cash. Visitors should be aware of the park's rules and regulations, including the prohibition on charcoal and wood grills, and the importance of wearing life jackets and swimming safely on the Highland Lakes.
