About
Norris Dam State Park is a historic park established in the late 1930s by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). The park offers two campgrounds, the East and West Campgrounds, which are currently closed for renovations with an intended reopening in 2026. The park has a total of 75 campsites with water and electric hook-ups, as well as 10 primitive tent-only campsites. The East Campground is located just outside the historic district and offers campsites with full or partial sun and a bathhouse with hot showers. The West Campground has 50 sites with water and electric hook-up, as well as three paved sites suitable for persons with disabilities. The park also offers a dump station, a laundromat, and firewood for sale. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including boating, fishing, hiking, and swimming, and can explore the surrounding area, which includes the historic district and Norris Dam.
