Nestled deep in the Natchaug River Valley in Chaplin, Connecticut, Nickerson Park Family Campground offers an escape from everyday life while positioning guests at the heart of over 12,000 acres of Natchaug State Forest. Since 1967, the Nickerson family has dedicated themselves to providing a family-friendly camping environment. The campground features a wide range of campsites from riverside sites to full-hookup pull-through sites with 50 amp electrical service. A section of the Natchaug River running along the campground is designated as a Trophy Management Area, well-stocked with large trout and offering world-class fishing opportunities. The surrounding forest provides excellent opportunities for hiking, birding, and exploring streams, marshes, and ponds. The campground is unique in its commitment to giving back, donating over 10% of all camping fees to support 30+ non-profits, charities, and missionaries.
