About

Nantahala RV Resort & Campground is a new campground located in the scenic Nantahala River Gorge, 12 miles west of Bryson City, NC, near the Nantahala National Forest and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The resort offers RV and tent sites along Wesser Creek, just one mile west of the Nantahala River, with convenient access from US Highway 19 and is big rig friendly. Guests can enjoy relaxing by their RV site or participate in numerous outdoor attractions including whitewater rafting on the Nantahala River, gemstone mining, zip lining, and guided fly fishing. The surrounding area offers excellent trout fishing opportunities, hiking, biking, and horseback riding on scenic mountain trails, including the popular Tsali Recreation Area. The charming town of Bryson City is about 15 minutes away and features the Great Smoky Mountains Scenic Railway, shops, restaurants, and a farmers market. The campground serves as an ideal base for exploring nearby attractions such as Fontana Lake, the Appalachian Trail, Cherokee Indian Reservation, and the famous Tail of the Dragon.
