About

Moose Creek Group Site is a scenic group camping facility located in Gallatin Canyon on the Bozeman Ranger District of Custer Gallatin National Forest, 32 miles south of Bozeman, Montana. Situated at 5,700 feet elevation next to the Gallatin River and Moose Creek, the site can accommodate up to 90 people and is surrounded by pine and fir trees. The area is renowned for its abundant wildlife, including bald eagles, bighorn sheep, moose, elk, mountain goats, deer, coyotes, and both black and grizzly bears. Visitors enjoy excellent opportunities for fishing (rainbow, brown, brook, and cutthroat trout, whitefish, and Arctic grayling), hiking on nearby trails including Swan Creek Trail and Golden Trout Lakes Trail, rafting, kayaking, scenic driving, and wildlife viewing. The group site provides picnic tables, campfire rings, and vault toilets, though drinking water and trash collection are not available on-site.
