McLear’s Cottage Colony is a small family-owned operation located on beautiful Black Lake in St. Lawrence County in northern New York. The McLear’s have been in the fishing and recreation business for almost 90 years. With over three generations of accumulated knowledge and experience in cottages and campgrounds, their goal is still convenience, comfort, and customer satisfaction. The cottages and campgrounds are located away from the highway and near the water, with spacious and well-kept lawns and shallow, hazard-free shores. Visitors can expect to meet and associate with friendly people who help make an enjoyable vacation unforgettable. Fishing and hunting licenses are available in the store, and the Fish Bone Café is on site. The area offers a relaxing vacation with no need for fancy clothes, just leisure attire and a bathing suit and fishing tackle. Black Lake is considered the best fishing lake in Northern New York, and the area offers a variety of activities and points of interest.
