McGregor Lake Campground is located approximately 53 miles southeast of Libby, Montana, in the Kootenai National Forest at the west end of McGregor Lake. Situated at an elevation of 3,900 feet and nestled among young pines, the campground sits in the heart of the Thompson Chain of Lakes, a premier fishing and hunting area halfway between Libby and Kalispell. McGregor Lake spans 1,240 acres, making it the largest lake in the Kootenai National Forest and is known for its prime mackinaw trout population offering excellent opportunities for trophy-size catches. The campground offers 27 sites with tables and fire rings, accommodating an average length of 32 feet, along with vault toilets, garbage service, and drinking water during peak season. Visitors can enjoy boating with an on-site boat ramp, swimming, water skiing, wildlife viewing, and hiking the 2.9-mile McGregor Lake Shoreline Trail.
