The park is situated in a scenic area with opportunities for boating, ice fishing, and picnicking. Visitors can enjoy the lake's swimming area, but it is at their own risk. The park has amenities such as a boat ramp, fishing piers, picnic pavilions, and restrooms. Camping fees are cash or check only and must be paid upon arrival. There are primitive campsites available for $10/night and electric campsites with 20/30/50 amp hookups for $15/night. The park is closed to camping on Tuesdays and Wednesdays due to North Dakota Game and Fish Department rules for certain Wildlife Management Areas.
