Mathews Arm Campground is a family-oriented campground nestled within Shenandoah National Park, offering a secluded camping experience among the thick trees and rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The campground features 166 available campsites, each with space for a tent or RV, a fire ring, and picnic area. Located at Milepost 22 on the famous Skyline Drive, the campground provides easy access to over 500 miles of trails, including 101 miles of the Appalachian Trail. Visitors can hike to Overall Run Falls, the park's highest waterfall at 93 feet, which offers stunning views of the Shenandoah Valley and Massanutten Mountain. The park encompasses 300 square miles of the southern Appalachians and offers abundant wildlife viewing opportunities including black bears, wild turkey, and deer. Amenities include flush toilets, drinking water, and a dump station, though there are no shower facilities or RV hookups available.
