About

Mataguay Scout Ranch is a 600-acre property owned and operated by the San Diego-Imperial Council, nestled in the pines and oaks of the local mountains just 50 miles northeast of downtown San Diego. Open year-round to all Scouting units and non-Scout organizations, the ranch offers comprehensive camping facilities including lodges, cabins, and administration buildings suitable for unit training and retreats. All campsites feature KYBOs (latrines), running water, and campfire rings, with numerous hiking trails including the challenging seven-mile Mataguay Pacific Crest Connector Trail. Beyond camping, the facility offers diverse programs including archery, swimming at the pool, boating at the lake, rifle and shotgun shooting, COPE training, and backpacking instruction. The ranch also features special programs such as glider flights, geocaching, mountain boarding, and instruction for over 40 merit badges during summer camp.
