The Huron-Manistee National Forests offer a wide range of recreation opportunities, including biking, fishing, hiking, horse riding and camping, and hunting and shooting. Dogs are welcome on the forest, given that applicable rules are followed and proper etiquette is practiced. The forest service waives recreation fees at most day-use sites on lands managed by the agency, except for concession-operated sites. The forest is open year-round, and visitors can find maps, passes, and answers to frequently asked questions on the forest service's website.
