About

The Idaho Panhandle National Forests comprise about 2.5 million acres of public lands surrounding vibrant communities and rich in adventure. The National Forests offer a wide range of recreation opportunities, including biking, fishing, hiking, horse riding and camping, hunting & shooting, off-highway vehicles (OHV), picnicking, scenic drives, water activities, and winter sports. The forests are divided into five geographic regions, each centered around one or more distinctive features: Priest Lake Region, Lower Kootenai River Region, Pend Oreille Lake Region, Coeur d'Alene River Region, and St. Joe River Region.
