About
The Cherokee National Forest is a 655,448-acre forest in eastern Tennessee, divided into 15 Recreation Regions. Each region offers a variety of nature-based recreation opportunities and settings to enjoy. Visitors can engage in activities such as biking, fishing, hiking, horse riding and camping, hunting and shooting, outdoor science and learning, picnicking, scenic drives, and water activities. The forest is remote, with limited roads and over 40 miles of trails. It is home to the Bald Mountain Ridge Scenic Area and Sampson Mountain Wilderness. The forest is a great place to explore and experience the natural beauty of eastern Tennessee.
