About
Lonesomehurst Campground is a scenic facility located on the banks of Hebgen Lake in southwestern Montana, just 20 minutes from West Yellowstone and close to Yellowstone National Park. Situated at 6,240 feet elevation on the South Fork Arm of the lake among lodgepole pines, the campground offers excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, and hiking. Hebgen Lake is Montana's premier stillwater fishing destination, home to healthy populations of brown, cutthroat, and rainbow trout. The area is renowned for wildlife viewing, with frequent sightings of bison, deer, moose, and diverse waterfowl including bald eagles, osprey, and Sandhill cranes. The campground provides basic amenities including picnic tables, campfire rings, vault toilets, and drinking water, with a boat ramp available for lake access.
