Littlefield Recreation Area is Audubon County Conservation Board's largest and most popular park. It began in 1965 with 40 acres of timber and 20 acres that were developed into a recreational area. In 1975 and 1976 the park's size increased by 385 acres due to the Troublesome Creek Watershed Project. Two dams were built along Troublesome Creek forming the lake that is used for recreational purposes and flood control. The park features a campground with 100 modern sites, all with access to electricity and water, and 15 sites with full sewer hookups. The 70-acre lake is a popular fishing spot and also features a 400-foot-long beach for swimming. Three reservable shelter houses are available, including the Old Shelter House, the Beach Shelter House, and the East Shelter House. The park offers various activities, including hiking, boating, and picnicking, and is located near the towns of Exira and Lewis, Iowa.
