Modesto Reservoir Regional Park is located at 18143 Reservoir Rd., a few miles from the town of Waterford, just off Highway 132. It offers over 3,200 acres of land and 2,800 acres of reservoir for recreation and camping. The park features campsites with full hookups, picnic shelters, restrooms, barbecues, picnic tables, an archery range, and a radio control electric airplane field. The area is home to a great variety of natural wildlife, including squirrels, jackrabbits, cottontails, red-tail hawks, coyotes, raccoons, seagulls, burrowing owls, geese, ducks, blue herons, and great white egrets. Visitors can enjoy fishing, boating, water skiing, jet skiing, kayaking, swimming, and waterfowl hunting. The park is also home to the Yahi Bowmen of Modesto, a nonprofit organization that promotes the sport of archery among youth and families.
