Lake Tejas is a spring fed, recreational lake located one mile east of Colmesneil on FM 256 E. It offers rustic cabins, varying campsites, and pavilions along with a highly sought after swim beach. The beautiful landscape, spring fed lake, and family friendly atmosphere make it the perfect place for birthday parties, scout campouts, school trips, vacations, family reunions, church retreats, or just a fun filled day in the sun. The swim beach has approximately 80 yards of sandy beach with plenty of room to roam and features diving platforms, volleyball, slides, paddle boating, fishing piers, concession building, and hiking trails. The lake also offers employment opportunities for young adults in the community and provides a portion of its profits to the school district to benefit students and provide scholarships.
