Lake Kissimmee State Park hosts excellent opportunities for birders, with its abundance of water, wetlands, and numerous different habitats offering views of different water fowl and birds of prey. The scrub habitat throughout the park is home to the Florida scrub-jay. The park also offers boating activities, including wildlife viewing, sightseeing, bass fishing, and pan fishing on some of Florida's most pristine waterways. The park has an on-site boat ramp and marina. For those who prefer camping, sixty campsites are available with electric and water hookups. The camping area is located in an oak hammock that provides shade and a natural buffer for a little seclusion. The park also offers luxury pioneer tents and primitive equestrian camping. The park is located near the 35,000-acre Lake Kissimmee and the neighboring lakes and creeks on the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes.
