Lake Hawkins RV Park is a premier RV camping destination in East Texas, located on the beautiful 776-acre Lake Hawkins. The park covers approximately 55 acres, half-wooded, with roughly 1,800 feet of shoreline including about 700 feet of pristine white-sand beach. Created in 1961-62 as part of a flood-control project by the Sabine River Authority, the lake is fed by several springs that keep its water noticeably clearer than most other East Texas lakes. The park was built in 1990 in cooperation with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and is now privately managed. It offers 53 RV sites with level concrete pads surrounded by tall pine trees, tent camping areas, cabins, and excellent recreational facilities including a boat ramp, fishing pier, volleyball courts, and nature trails. Located about 4 miles from the town of Hawkins and 26 miles from Tyler, the park is open year-round and welcomes families, pets, and snowbirds.
