Lake Canyon Recreation Area is a primitive campground located in the Manti-La Sal National Forest along Utah's scenic Energy Loop, situated atop the Wasatch Plateau at approximately 9,000 feet elevation. Positioned between Huntington and Cleveland reservoirs, just 18 miles east of Fairview off Highway 31, this expansive area is a paradise for anglers and off-road vehicle enthusiasts. The recreation area features several group campsites accommodating 20-150 people and approximately 50 dispersed single-family campsites set in a broad mountain valley surrounded by scenic Wasatch Plateau peaks. Visitors can enjoy excellent fishing for tiger, cutthroat, and rainbow trout at nearby reservoirs, along with extensive OHV trails, horseback riding, hiking, and mountain biking opportunities. The landscape is characterized by stands of aspen and pine trees with meadows filled with grasses, sagebrush, and summer wildflowers. As a primitive facility, vault toilets are provided but there is no water, electricity, or garbage service available.
