Lake Bronson State Park Campground
Lake Bronson, Minnesota
About
Lake Bronson State Park came to exist as the result of a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project during the Great Depression. Workers built a dam and several buildings before the land was given to the state in 1937. Long before that, the area was used by American Indians living on the shores of glacial Lake Agassiz. Pioneers later homesteaded the region. These uses have created a park rich in cultural resources that you might experience during your stay: Arvilla artifacts, pioneer cemeteries and homesteads, and WPA buildings, campsites and the dam. Enjoy all the lake has to offer. The park features paved trails, hiking trails, and a variety of wildlife, including elk, mink, waterfowl, and otters. Visitors can also explore the unique aspen parkland landscape and delve into its story through interpretive signs. The park offers a range of activities, including hiking, biking, and horseback riding, as well as a playground and a visitor center with exhibits and a Great Room that can be rented for events.
