West Shore Campground is a scenic lakeside facility located directly on the north shore of Lake Alpine within Stanislaus National Forest, sitting at an elevation of 7,400 feet. The campground is within walking distance to the boat launch, rentals, and Lake Alpine Lodge, making it an ideal base for water and wilderness recreation. This historic, high-alpine campground features basic amenities including picnic tables, campfire rings, and toilets, with hot showers and laundromat facilities available nearby at Lake Alpine Resort. The surrounding forest, nestled between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite, offers diverse wildlife viewing opportunities including deer, bears, eagles, and various bird species.
