Kings Mountain State Park is a 6,885-acre park located in the Piedmont region of South Carolina. The park features miles of forested trails perfect for hiking, two fishing lakes, and sits adjacent to Kings Mountain National Military Park, one of many national park Revolutionary War sites. Local crowds flock to the park during regularly scheduled special events and for the abundance of hiking and equestrian trails. The park is an excellent place to come see the leaf changes in the fall. For those who want to stay overnight, campground accommodations–including equestrian facilities–are available at the Kings Mountain campground, with easy access to hiking, fishing, and more. The park is home to a 1800’s Living History Farm, a peaceful place where you can hang out with the farm animals. A place to relax and enjoy a picnic or a snack is the spillway, a beautiful example of CCC dam construction. The park has 115 standard campsites for RVs or tent camping, 6 Hammock Camping sites, and 15 equestrian campsites. It also has 30 miles of equestrian trails, 20+ miles of hiking trails, and a Ridgeline Trail that connects 3 parks and 2 states. The park lakes, Lake Crawford and Lake York, are available for fishing and paddling. Two picnic shelters are available for rent for group gatherings.
