About

The Irons Mountain Campsite is located upstream about a mile from the Narrows, the point where the River and the Canal squeeze by the ridge. The campsite is a large, deep wooded area with access to Rt. 51. It has a portable toilet, picnic table, grill/fire ring and water source (April 15-November 15). The nearby area offers various points of interest such as Lock 73, North Branch Recreational Area, and Blue Spring. The campsite is part of the C&O National Historical Park and offers support to preserve the park.
