Iron Creek Lake is a hidden gem in the northern Black Hills, a unique and beautiful lake of approximately 23 acres. The campground, owned by the State of South Dakota and managed by its Game, Fish & Parks, offers a relaxed, rustic retreat oriented towards families. The lake is a favorite pastime for fishing, with rainbow trout, perch, and bass available. The area also offers mountain biking, hiking, swimming, and night sky viewing. The campground provides a range of accommodations, including quiet tent sites and RV sites with electrical hookups, as well as primitive cabins and glamping tents. The store and cafe offer essentials for camping and picnicking, along with apparel, souvenirs, fishing licenses, bait, and tackle. The cafe serves breakfast, lunch, and supper, including burgers made with local home-raised beef. The area is also home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, ducks, bald eagles, and osprey.
