Hume Lake Campground is a popular facility situated along Hume Lake in Sequoia National Forest, one of the forest's most visited destinations. Located at 5,250 feet elevation on the northern end of the lake, the campground is nestled among towering Incense Cedars and Ponderosa Pines. The lake was originally built to support a historic logging operation and once supplied water to the longest lumber flume transporting logs to the Central Valley. The campground offers single and double-family campsites, some with views of Hume Lake, along with foot trails leading to the lakeshore. Visitors can enjoy year-round recreational opportunities including fishing, canoeing, hiking, biking, and swimming during warmer months, while winter activities include snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. The area is part of Sequoia National Forest in the southern Sierra Nevada, known for its Giant Sequoias and spectacular natural features.
