Herbster Campground is a unique camping destination located on the scenic south shore of Lake Superior in Herbster, Wisconsin, only 3.5 hours from the Twin Cities. The campground is the only facility on the South Shore offering beachside tent camping, featuring a mile-long beach and accommodating tents, tent campers, and full-sized motor homes. Visitors can enjoy tent sites right along the Lake Superior shoreline, electric-only sites, and RV sites with water and 50-amp electrical hookups. The location provides easy access to outdoor recreation including kayaking the Sea Caves of the Apostle Islands, fishing for Lake Trout and Salmon, windsurfing, and sailing.
