Hawk's Nest Tionesta is a historic RV park and cabin resort nestled in the Modoc National Forest at the base of Timber Mountain in Northern California, just 15 minutes from Lava Beds National Monument. The park features turn-of-the-century cabins originally from Long Bell Railroad camps, updated with modern comforts, alongside spacious RV sites with 30/50-amp full hookups suitable for large rigs with multiple slide-outs, and forested tent campsites under soaring pines. Set at 4,000 feet elevation, the park offers ideal summer weather (60s-80s) for hiking, fishing, and hunting, with amenities including a country store, free Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, barbecue areas, and complimentary showers. The park operates seasonally from May 24 through October 31 and welcomes groups with a dedicated large group tenting area featuring communal campfires.
