About

Hamburger Rock Campground is a primitive camping destination located in the Indian Creek area of Bears Ears National Monument, approximately 3 miles southeast of Canyonlands National Park's Needles District and 17 miles northwest of Newspaper Rock. The campground features 10 basic campsites situated at the base of Hamburger Rock, a striking red sandstone monolith that provides shade for most sites, with a few shaded by small juniper trees. Each site includes a tent/trailer space, picnic table, fire ring, and access to vault toilets, accommodating up to 10 people and 2 vehicles per site. The Indian Creek area is known for its extraordinary natural beauty and world-class recreational opportunities, including rock climbing on Wingate Sandstone cliffs, scenic photography, cultural resource viewing, and off-highway vehicle touring. As a first-come, first-served facility with no drinking water and limited services, visitors should bring plenty of water and supplies, along with their own firewood.
