About

Isle Royale National Park is a remote wilderness area located in Lake Superior, Michigan. The park is accessible only by boat or seaplane, and offers a unique opportunity for group camping and backpacking. The park's regulations require advance group camping reservations and permits for groups of seven or more people. Group campsites are available, and organizations are limited to 20 people camping on the island at any one time. The park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including moose, wolves, and beavers. Visitors can explore the park's many trails, including the 43-mile Greenstone Ridge Trail, and enjoy scenic views of Lake Superior. The park is open year-round, but some facilities are closed during the winter months. Group camping reservations can be made beginning October 1, 2024 for the 2025 season.
