Groom Creek Horse Camp is a specialized equestrian camping facility located seven miles south of Prescott, Arizona within the Prescott National Forest at an elevation of 6,398 feet. Set in a scenic ponderosa pine forest mixed with alligator juniper and oak species, this camp is exclusively designed for horse owners and features 30 campsites, each equipped with a steel corral enclosure and overhead tether line accommodating two to four horses. The camp offers both reservable loops (B and C) and a first-come, first-serve loop (A), with most driveways being pull-through for easy horse trailer access. Beyond camping, visitors can enjoy three nearby trails including the 2-mile Horse Camp Loop Trail, the 5-mile Wolf Creek Loop Trail, and the 9-mile Groom Creek Loop Trail, which are shared with hikers and mountain bikers. The nearby town of Prescott, just 15 minutes away, offers arts, crafts, and music festivals throughout the summer, while Goldwater Lake provides additional recreation opportunities within minutes of the camp.
