Glacier Hills County Park is located on an interlobate moraine, a unique landform created by the movement of glaciers. The park consists of 140 acres of land and includes approximately 1200 feet of frontage on Friess Lake. The gravel soil supports a forest of oaks, maples, basswood, ironwood, elm, and birch. Over 120 varieties of birds have been observed in the park. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, fishing, and swimming, as well as rent kayaks or stay in one of the rustic cabins. The park also features playground equipment, a basketball court, and a lighted sled hill. The park is open year-round, with heated flush restrooms and cross-country ski trails available in the winter.
