Freeman Reservoir Campground is located in the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests & Thunder Basin National Grassland. The campground offers dispersed camping opportunities, with no developed campsites. Visitors can enjoy a variety of recreational activities, including biking, fishing, hiking, horse riding and camping, hunting and shooting, off-highway vehicles, picnicking, scenic drives, water activities, and winter sports. The campground is located in Northern Colorado, on the west side of the Routt National Forest, and is home to the Elkhead Mountains. The Flat Tops area, managed by the Yampa Ranger District, is also nearby, offering additional recreational opportunities.
