Fort Superior Campground is a unique, primitive tent-only campground located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula near Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, situated on private property within the Hiawatha National Forest. The campground features 39 tent-only campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, lantern post, and fire pit with grill attachment. From the 140-foot hill, campers enjoy stunning views of Grand Island on Lake Superior. The campground offers a range of site experiences, from lower forest sites surrounded by trees to upper sites with panoramic lake views, as well as more secluded hiking-access sites. Each site accommodates up to 6 people and 2 pets with 2 assigned parking spaces. Facilities include vault toilets, hand-pump wells with potable water, and trash disposal, with showers available nearby. The location provides easy access to town attractions, lakeshore, and waterfalls while maintaining a natural, immersive camping experience.
