About

Emigrant Group Campground is a scenic group camping facility located alongside Stampede Reservoir in Tahoe National Forest, approximately 30 minutes from Truckee, California. The campground sits on the south side of the reservoir on the Little Truckee River, surrounded by a forest of ponderosa pine, Jeffrey pine, and fir trees that provide ample shade. The facility offers four group sites with varying capacities, each equipped with central cooking and picnic areas, large campfire rings, tables, and grills. Visitors enjoy excellent recreational opportunities including boating, water skiing, swimming, and fishing for rainbow and brown trout and kokanee salmon. The area is also popular for hiking, mountain biking, and off-road vehicle trails, with the nearby Overland Emigrant Commemorative Trail offering additional outdoor experiences. The location provides convenient access to nearby attractions including Boca Reservoir, the town of Truckee with its amenities, and Lake Tahoe.
