Elks Flat Campground is situated on the banks of the South Fork Boise River at the foot of the Trinity Mountain Range in Idaho, just five miles north of the town of Pine. Part of Boise National Forest, this campground is nestled in a grassy meadow surrounded by stands of cottonwood, aspen, Douglas fir, and ponderosa pine at an elevation of 4,400 feet. The campground features two large-group campsites that can accommodate up to 100 people, each equipped with covered pavilions, picnic tables, and cement site pads, along with vault toilets and drinking water. Visitors enjoy a variety of recreational activities including fishing for rainbow trout, swimming, rafting on the South Fork Boise River, and exploring nearby trails such as Green Creek Trail 270 and Cross Cut Trail 172. The area also offers access to Paradise Hot Springs and Baumgartner Hot Springs, located approximately 16 miles away, making it an excellent destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
