Eagle Campground is located in the Eagle Lake Recreation Area of Lassen National Forest, situated on the southern shoreline of Eagle Lake at an elevation of 5,100 feet. The campground is nestled in a mature conifer forest of tall pines and firs, offering a scenic setting where the Sierras meet the Cascades. As the closest campground to the marina and boat launch in the recreation area, Eagle Campground provides convenient access to Eagle Lake, California's third-largest natural lake at 22,000 acres. The area is known for fishing Eagle Lake Rainbow Trout, a California Heritage Trout, as well as swimming, kayaking, and boating activities. The campground connects to a 5.2-mile paved hiking and biking trail that links the five campgrounds and day-use areas in the recreation area, including the scenic Osprey Overlook. Lassen Volcanic National Park is an easy day's drive away, making this an excellent base for exploring the diverse landscapes and recreational opportunities of the Lassen National Forest.
